Section 1557 – Ensuring Meaningful Access for Individuals with Limited English Proficiency

According to HHS, Section 1557 prohibits discrimination on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability in certain health programs and activities. "In each state, covered entities are required to post taglines in the top 15 languages spoken by individuals with limited English proficiency in that state that indicate the availability of language assistance."
